Job DescriptionSt. Cloud State University is seeking applications for potential adjunct instructors who qualify to teach in the College of Health and Wellness Professions-Department of Kinesiology, Community Health, and Gerontology.The department requests applications for part-time adjunct instructors to teach various theory of coaching courses as a subject matter related to their discipline. Courses will include hybrid delivery methodCourses may include, but are not limited to: Baseball, Basketball, Hockey, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Track and Field, Volleyball, Wrestling.This adjunct position will remain open for 1 year to allow departments? access to candidate pools when there is a need to hire an adjunct to teach a course(s) during defined academic semester(s).Compensation is per credit, the current credit rate is a minimum of $1819 per credit.Minimum QualificationsMasters in Recreation, Sport Management, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Elementary or Secondary Education Teaching degree, or closely related professional fieldExperience with coaching sport either at the collegiate, high-school, youth, elite club level, or recognized organization national programCurrent coaching certification by either the state high school league, USA coaching, or appropriate credentials from the coaching league in which they are currently coachingDemonstrate three years of head coaching experience and/or five years of coaching experiences (head/assistant)Demonstrate knowledge of the gameDemonstrate ability to teach sport strategy, player development, and ethical sport behaviorExcellent communication skills (verbal and written)Commitment to university and student engagement, mentoring, and student successEvidence of demonstrated ability to teach and work with persons from culturally diverse backgroundsPreferred QualificationTeaching related to coaching clinics or instructional lessons with collegiate, high school, or USA coaching levelsDemonstrate teaching and/or coaching at the high school or collegiate levelUse of technology in sport coaching instructionDemonstrate use of technology in teaching courses blended/hybrid, asynchronous, or synchronous formatsAvailability weekdays, evenings, and onlineCPR/AED, First Aid certificationRequired Documents (Upload at Time of Application) Resume/CVCover LetterUnofficial TranscriptsThree (3) Professional ReferencesWork Shift (Hours / Days of work)VariesAboutThe successful candidate will share St. Cloud State?s commitment to our mission, and in particular, the value we place in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) as outlined in SCSU?sIt?s Timestrategic framework.
