POSITION OVERVIEW
The Assistant Security Manager will manage daily security operations for the Stream Data Centers (SDC) site(s) to which they are assigned. The Assistant Security Manager will act as an extension of SDC Corporate Security at the local level and will a client contact for the contracted guard-force provider. The Assistant Security Manager will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the contract guard-force. The Assistant Security Manager will dress in SDC approved office attire. The Assistant Security Manager will approve all new Security Officer candidates prior to site assignment. The Assistant Security Manager must be efficient in all officer duties and emergency response protocols. While the Assistant Security Manager must be able to perform security officer duties as needed, this will not be their primary function . The Assistant Security Manager will be responsible for security technology management, reporting, officer training, staff development, mentorship, leadership and Compliance reporting/auditing processes. The Assistant Security Manager will be responsible for helping manage all daily activities, projects and meetings with security officers assigned to the site in coordination with the Site Security Manager. The Assistant Security Manager will help ensure the SOC is being managed appropriately to maintain consistency with SDC Global Security Operation Procedures and Compliance standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand and follow the Global Security Operation Procedures (GSOP)
  • Understand and follow Compliance documentation and protocols
  • Respond to emergencies or contact emergency personnel as needed
  • Understand and follow the Site Specific Post Orders (SSPO) for the site assigned
  • Ensure security staff adherence to GSOP, SSPO, and local, state and federal laws
  • Follow appropriate direction per chain of command
  • Ensure security officer completion of Daily Activity Reports (DAR) per security protocols
  • Ensure Incident Reports (IR) are completed as needed during the shift of the event
  • Ensure virtual tours are completed per GSOP and SSPO
  • Ensure physical patrol tours are completed per GSOP and SSPO
  • Ensure deliveries are processed per GSOP and SSPO
  • Ensure all security personnel complete all needed training as directed
  • Ensure all security personnel are in proper uniforms that are clean, pressed, and with correct badge, nametags and rank insignia
  • Communicate staffing needs to guard-force provider
  • Coordinate with Operation’s Critical Facilities Management, Corporate Security Leadership, and security team to ensure security and operations policies, procedures, and objectives are accomplished
  • Escalate site problems to Site Security Manager, Sr. Security Manager, or Vice President of Corporate Security as incidents occur per GSOP and SSPO
  • Participate in management meetings as directed
  • Ensure the video and security systems are monitored and respond to any problems as directed in the GSOP, the SSPO or by the chain of command
  • Be available 24 hours a day for site emergencies, and/or questions
  • Perform Compliance duties as directed and participate in reporting, audits and program development as needed.
  • Oversee employees, tenants, contractors and guests to ensure they are following proper SDC security guidelines per the GSOP and SSPO.
  • Oversee security provider to ensure contract obligations are being met.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years of security experience or supervisor role in another business.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Security, military or police certification courses
  • Experience in supervisory or management position preferred
  • Positive attitude
  • Excellent customer service
  • Moderate computer skills (MS Office & Outlook)
  • Great attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Basic problem-solving skills
  • Ability to give verbal and written instructions to other security officers, operations personnel, tenants, contractors, guests or emergency personnel.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to write professional incident reports and daily activity reports
  • Have vision that is corrective to 20/30 and be free of color blindness
  • Be able to speak/hear the English language at a conversational level
  • Ability to work in inclement weather (i.e. rain, snow, heat, cold)
  • Good sense of smell-should be able to detect obvious scent hazards like smoke or a gas leak
  • Ability to use hand-held radio
  • Ability to use security equipment to complete duties
  • Ability to walk at least 3 miles a day
  • Must be able to move around quickly if needed
  • Must be able to traverse uneven ground

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in military, law enforcement, or operational security role preferred
  • Data Center industry experience preferred
  • Electronic Access Control and CCTV System end user experience preferred

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • First Aid CPR certified
  • Security Awareness training

The pay range for this role is between $50,000- $60,000 (base).Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related reasons.
