The School of Social Work at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

invites applications for a full-time, 9-month tenure-system Associate Professor position starting August 16, 2025. We seek a scholar with a well-established research portfolio, a strong record of publications, and a demonstrated ability to secure external funding. The successful candidate will contribute to critical areas in social work, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and support the development of innovative programs. Excellence in teaching is expected. Candidates must hold a PhD in social work or a related health or social science field. Exceptional candidates in other related areas will also be considered.

The University of Illinois School of Social Work is known for its

achievements in research, teaching, and community engagement. practice, emphasizing identifying the needs of marginalized and minoritized groups, developing responsive social welfare programs and interventions, and promoting social, racial and economic justice. The School is the home of the Children and Family Research Center ( and the Center for Prevention Research and Development ( which provide rich sources of data as well as opportunities for research collaborations.

The budgeted salary range for this position is \$100,000-115,000 at the

Associate Professor level. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including equivalent years in rank, training, and field or discipline; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
