Job Description

What will you be doing?

Barclays Bank Delaware seeks AVP, Advanced Modeling in New York, NY  (multiple positions available):

  • Build new Data Science capabilities by operationalizing Big Data platform, monetizing new data assets, and leveraging Machine Learning and Advanced Analytics methodologies.

  • Provide project specific leadership in building selection and targeting solutions that integrate effectively into existing systems and processes while delivering strong and consistent performance.

  • Work with Customer Management, Marketing, Partnership and broader US Consumer Bank Leadership, Provide expertise in project design, predictive model development, validation, monitoring, tracking, implementation and/or specification.

  • Work closely with the technical disciplines of IVU, Model Monitoring to ensure that the latest methodologies and constraints are incorporated and to provide efficient documentation around the process to ensure smooth Auditability and Controls.

  • Understand the underlying regulatory requirements and the primary drivers of the bank as well as helping the strategies.

  • May telecommute.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $143,271 per year

Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $161,141 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available .

This position is eligible for incentives pursuant to Barclays Employee Referral Program.

Purpose of the role

To use innovative data analytics and machine learning techniques to extract valuable insights from the bank's data reserves, leveraging these insights to inform strategic decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and drive innovation across the organisation. 

Accountabilities

  • Identification, collection, extraction of data from various sources, including internal and external sources.
  • Performing data cleaning, wrangling, and transformation to ensure its quality and suitability for analysis.
  • Development and maintenance of efficient data pipelines for automated data acquisition and processing.
  • Design and conduct of statistical and machine learning models to analyse patterns, trends, and relationships in the data.
  • Development and implementation of predictive models to forecast future outcomes and identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to seek out opportunities to add value from data through Data Science.
