BR&T is looking for a Ceramics and Thermal Protection Systems Engineer to join our Extreme Environment Materials team.  This role supports Research and Development (R&D) and production programs within Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Boeing Defense, Space, and Security, and Boeing Global Services.  We are seeking either an Associate, Mid-Level or Senior Engineer to join our team in Huntington Beach, California.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating, optimizing and implementing new ceramic, hot structure, and thermal protection system technologies for potential application to business needs
  • Supporting the manufacture of development and production hardware both in-house and at suppliers
  • Performing tests to qualify new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to established requirements
  • Regularly communicating with internal stakeholders to coordinate and resolve programmatic and technical problems that would affect cost, schedule and performance
  • Conducting analysis to determine performance or reasons for failures of tools, materials, parts or processes

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • Experience in ceramics, hot structure, or thermal protection systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in one of the following core engineering or applied science disciplines: Materials Science, Ceramic, Aerospace, Mechanical, Chemical, or Manufacturing.
  • Strong technical experiences as demonstrated through technical projects, research or engineering internships, or prior work experience.
  • Active US Secret Clearance or higher

Typical Education/Experience:  

Associate (Level 2):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Mid-Level (Level 3):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 4):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Summary pay range Associate Level: $82,450 – $111,550

Summary pay range Mid-Level: $102,000 - $138,000

Summary pay range Senior: $124,950 - $169,050
