Under the general direction of the Chief, Visualization and Reporting Branch, a Research Data Supervisor II, the Research Data Analyst II (RDA II) is the project manager with essential responsibilities to: research, analyze, advocate for, and collect transportation-related data and information from all core Caltrans programs to coordinate the development of the Caltrans Fact Booklet (CFB) and its related deliverables annually; conducts research, analysis, and follows required rules, procedures, and policies to support the maintenance of the Division's website; serves as a Division resource support staff to conduct data research, develop strategies, maintain and improve methods, and implement innovative solutions to effectively and contentiously maintain the Division's ability to respond to frequent transportation data and information inquiries; reviews, analyzes, and edits reports and works on urgent assignments.

Multiple positions may be filled from this recruitment.Employee will work in an office or telework environment.
Work hours will be set between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm. Core hours are 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Employee may be required to travel in state, but the travel is not frequent.
This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
