Data Center Technicians & Engineers – Flexible, Project-Based Work

Location: Local to Ashburn
Pay Rate: $35/hr – $45/hr (W2)
Type: Project-Based / Supplemental Work (Not Full-Time)

About the Opportunity

Nesco Resource is seeking multiple Data Center Technicians and Engineers to support ongoing data center projects in the local area. This is a great way to earn extra income while working your full-time job or to get hands-on experience while you look for a permanent role .

This is not a full-time position. Opportunities are as-needed and project-based , with the flexibility to pick up shifts during the work week.

What to Expect

• Flexible scheduling (projects typically run Monday–Friday during business hours)

• Shifts average 4-8hrs depending on project scope; could be multiple days

• 4-hour minimum per site visit (disclosed in advance if different)

• Large relocation projects often scheduled Friday nights/weekends (10–12 hour shifts)

• Project Managers and onsite leads provide direction and process expectations for larger projects

Hands-On Responsibilities

• Racking, stacking, install & de-install of server/data center hardware

• Cabling, cross-connects, and reverse wire pulls/snips

• Staging of rails for upcoming installs

• Build-outs and relocations

• Supporting tickets that involve rack/stack/install, cabling, and infrastructure moves

Tools Required

• Power drill and/or Phillips & flathead screwdrivers

• Snips, blue tape, and Sharpie (depending on project scope)

Compensation

• $35/hr – $45/hr (W2)

• 4-hour minimum for site visits

• Competitive pay for relocation and large project support

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience as a Data Center Technician or Engineer

• General knowledge of server farms/data center environments

• Break/Fix or Systems Admin skills (preferred)

• Valid government-issued ID

• High school diploma or equivalent
