Position Summary...

The Director of Business Development will be responsible for driving sales growth and revenue for Walmart through strategic partnerships, new business opportunities, and innovative solutions, with a specific focus on facilities maintenance and related services. This leadership role will focus on identifying, evaluating, and executing initiatives that enhance Walmart's market position and drive sales growth in the facilities maintenance space, with a data-driven approach and a strong emphasis on customer service.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of success in business development, sales, and partnership management, with a strong understanding of the retail industry and market trends, as well as an outgoing personality and excellent communication skills. Additionally, a strong background in facilities maintenance business development is required.

What you'll do...

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy that is data-driven and focused on driving sales growth and revenue for Walmart in the facilities maintenance space.
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and investments that align with Walmart's strategic priorities in facilities maintenance, using data and market research to inform decision making.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders , including clients, partners, and industry leaders, to drive sales growth and revenue in facilities maintenance, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams , including facilities maintenance, global tech, finance, operations, global people, marketing and Walmart's Insource program, to develop and execute go-to-market strategies that are data-driven and customer-focused.
  • Support Walmart's Insource program by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and partnerships that align with the program's goals and objectives in facilities maintenance and providing strategic guidance and support to the Insource team as needed.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth and improvement in facilities maintenance, using data to inform decision making.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics to measure the success of business development initiatives in facilities maintenance.
  • Lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously , ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic goals. Develop project plans, assign responsibilities, manage resources, and track progress against milestones.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with Walmart's code of conduct and ethical standards .

  • Applied Business Acumen: Understands industry and environmental factors, business vernacular, and relevant metrics to evaluate and influence business decisions. Develops strategies aligned with objectives, drives execution, and articulates ROI. Derives insights from data models to advise stakeholders and challenge assumptions. Develops new processes, mentors team members, and engages with the external community.
  • Sales Scoping and Qualification: Develops sales qualification processes, mentors on value evaluation, and designs strategies for scoping and qualification. Incorporates consultative sales techniques to better understand and meet customer needs.
  • Strategic Sales Planning and Forecasting: Establishes standards, policies, and best practices for sales planning and forecasting. Implements forecasting standards and predicts market trends.
  • Sales Proposals and Presentations: Develops strategies for effective sales proposals and presentations, mentors on quality, and drives adoption of best practices.
  • Negotiation Excellence: Develops effective negotiation strategies, leads complex negotiations, and guides team members on negotiating agreements.
  • Service Expertise: Engages with clients, understands service solutions, leads sales activities, and provides guidance on communications.
  • Financial Acumen: Understands financial metrics, analyzes performance, forecasts changes, and communicates impacts. Develops solutions aligned with business strategies.
  • Overall Direction: Analyzes business objectives, develops strategies, measures outcomes, identifies improvement opportunities, and promotes a customer-focused environment. Develops and maintains a skilled workforce and promotes integrity and ethics.
  • Partnerships and Networks: Develops partnerships to achieve business goals, engages in community initiatives, and supports associate efforts in these areas.
  • Project Management Skills : Demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, with the ability to manage project scope, timelines, and resources effectively.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
