Job Description

Federated Rural Electric Insurance Exchange is seeking a qualified full-time Experienced Insurance Claims Adjuster to join our team, managing general liability and property claims for multiple states. As a trusted partner to rural electric cooperatives, you'll help support our rural electric utilities' insurance claim needs while building meaningful business relationships.

WHAT DOES YOUR DAY ENTAIL?

As an Insurance Claims Adjuster at Federated Rural Electric Insurance Exchange, you will focus on delivering personalized service to our valued members while maintaining the integrity of the claims process. Each day, you'll engage with members and key contacts at rural electric cooperatives, helping them navigate their insurance policies with clear guidance. A vital aspect of your role involves determining liability and coverage for claims, coordinating with third parties, and issuing payments as warranted.

Your investigative skills will shine as you assess claims, ensuring a balance between efficiency and accuracy. Throughout your day, you'll keep meticulous records to support liability evaluations, potential litigation, and ongoing insurance servicing, all while emphasizing excellent member support. WHAT ARE THE HOURS FOR AN EXPERIENCED INSURANCE CLAIMS ADJUSTER?

This is a full-time position in an office setting with standard working hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday . However, we also offer modified work schedules to fit the needs of our team and electric cooperatives nationwide.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

To excel as an Insurance Claims Adjuster at Federated Rural Electric Insurance Exchange, you will need a strong understanding of insurance products, services, policies, and procedures. Experience handling general and property loss claims is essential to navigate the complexities of the claims process effectively. You should be adept at developing clear and professional correspondence with claimants, providers, insureds, and third-party providers, ensuring seamless communication. Investigative skills are crucial, as you will be tasked with thoroughly investigating claims while negotiating with involved parties to reach resolutions.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Knowledge of insurance products, services, policies and procedures;
  • Experience handling general and property loss insurance claims;
  • Developing correspondence with claimants, providers, insureds, and other third-party providers;
  • Investigating claims and negotiating with involved parties to bring a resolution.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferred
  • A minimum of two years of customer service experience required
  • At least two years of experience in adjusting property and casualty insurance claims.
  • Have, or the ability to obtain, an adjuster license in required states
  • Proficiency in essential office tools such as Microsoft Office, email, and the internet
