Full-Time Faculty, Associate Degree Nurse Education Program Division of Health Professions MCCC Unit Professional position Campus Location: Danvers Campus and off-site clinical agency Work Schedule: Monday - Friday SALARY: Anticipated starting salary is $70,000.00 - $80,000.00. Actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience in accordance with the MCCC/MTA collective bargaining agreement. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: - Works as a member of a teaching team to teach Medical Surgical Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Health Assessment, Pharmacology and Nursing Leadership in the classroom, clinical setting and clinical simulation laboratory.
- Participates in program committees, curriculum development, program accreditation, evaluation of students, computerized test development, student advising, program and college committees.
- Performs other duties as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.
- Availability to teach day and / or evenings in the clinical setting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Teach a full-time in the classroom and clinical setting (typically 15 credit hours per semester) schedule of Nurse Education courses as assigned by the Assistant Dean of Nursing.
- Prepare syllabi and develop/update curricula to address course and student learning outcomes and General Education competencies, according to the teaching modality of the course (online, face-to-face, hybrid, clinical instruction etc.).
- Serve as academic advisor to assigned students.
- Participate in curriculum development in collaboration with the entire department.
- Participate in college service consistent with the collective bargaining agreement.
- Maintain a minimum of four (4) scheduled office hours per week during fall and spring semesters according to the collective bargaining agreement.
- Attend required department and college meetings.
- Recommend suitable instructional material, textbooks, and library acquisitions.
- Participate in assessment of course and program learning outcomes, and program review and accreditation activities.
- Use technology effectively to communicate with students and colleagues, to teach online as needed, and to enhance classroom learning as appropriate.
- Engage in professional development activities through participation in conferences, workshops, seminars, and professional associations to maintain excellence in discipline and in the classroom.
- Foster student success across the college's diverse student body, and address equity gaps, through innovative teaching and learning approaches as well as curriculum development.
- Actively participate in the general college community and fulfill duties as stipulated in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Communication skills that demonstrate sensitivity to adult learners, non-native English speakers, and diversely prepared students.
- Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Job Requirements:
- An earned Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college/university
- Minimum 2 years of full-time employment in nursing within the past 5 years.
- Evidence of clinical competence in area(s) of Medical Surgical Nursing is required.
- Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license in good standing required.
- Successful experience interacting with culturally diverse populations.
- Ability to work and collaborate in a team-teaching environment.
- BLS Health Provider Level certification from AHA required.
- Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or a national background check as a condition of employment.
- Candidate will be required to clear a 10-panel urine drug screen per clinical placement policy as a condition of employment.
- Adhere to MABORN Nursing Program requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Bi- or multi-lingual
- Face to Face, online, hybrid and or videoconferencing teaching experience preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with the use of patient simulators and technology preferred.
