We have a thorough but FAST hiring process! The Diesel Technician is responsible for inspecting vehicles, diagnosing and repairing diesel engines in vehicles like trucks and commercial vehicles. They will utilize diagnostic tools and follow manufacturer standards to identify issues and replacing or repairing malfunctioning components to ensure optimal engine performance. PAY IS BASED ON EXPERIENCE AND BEGINS AT $30.00 TO $40.00 AN HOUR.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Determine cause of malfunction. Use problem-solving skills daily.
• Review vehicle history files, perform repairs and provide service advisors with accurate information for repair cost, parts needed, and repair time.
• Accurately document all work performed and applicable technical information.
• Maintain regular attendance at shop meetings and training.

QUALITIES FOR SUCCESS:

• ASE Certifications are preferred. Manufacturer or technical training is preferred.
• Goal oriented with the desire to complete tasks correctly the first time.
• Professional attitude and capable of talking with customers.
• Ability to perform all required functions of this position.
• Maintain a clean and neat personal appearance.
• Must possess a valid IL driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

SCHEDULE:

• Monday through Friday from 7:30 am until 4:30 pm
• Rotating Saturdays (one every 6 weeks) from 7:30 am until 12:00 pm

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

• The compensation for the Diesel Technician begins at $30.00 to $40.00 per hour and depends upon experience.
