Job Title : Business Architect

Location : 100 Hancock Street, Quincy, Massachusetts 02171

Schedule : Monday Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Work Model : Hybrid (in-office and remote work as needed; schedule subject to change based on operational needs)

Employment Type : Long-Term Contract

Weekly Hours : 37.5

Start Date : All hires start 3 weeks after offer acceptance

Position Overview :
The Business Architect will serve as a strategic partner, responsible for aligning business strategies with technology initiatives and organizational capabilities. This role is key in designing, modeling, and improving business capabilities, processes, and value streams in alignment with agency goals. Reporting to the Project Manager, this individual will work across multiple stakeholder groups to ensure successful IT modernization efforts within the Office of Refugees and Immigrants (ORI).

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Alignment : Partner with leadership to translate business strategies into architectural designs and transformation plans.
• Capability Modeling : Identify and define critical business capabilities and map them to organizational processes and structures.
• Process Design & Optimization : Evaluate and redesign business processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and service delivery.
• Value Stream Analysis : Create value streams to visualize and guide alignment between business strategy and operations.
• Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborate with business users, senior leadership, and technical teams to capture requirements and ensure solution alignment.
• Business Case Development : Create and present business cases that support investments in technology, process improvements, and new capabilities.
• Technology Enablement : Work closely with IT teams to ensure proposed solutions align with enterprise architecture and support business goals.
• Innovation & Change : Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation in products, services, and delivery models.
• Documentation : Maintain comprehensive, accessible business architecture artifacts, models, and process flows.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
• 12+ years of experience in Business Architecture, Business Analysis, or related disciplines
• Strong understanding and hands-on experience with business process modeling, capability mapping, and value stream analysis
• Experience in Salesforce case management or CRM systems within public sector environments
• Proven success working in or with public sector organizations, with a preference for Massachusetts State agency experience
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and documentation skills
• Familiarity with hybrid work environments and ability to manage priorities effectively across remote and in-office settings
