You will oversee a product from the release stage through to satisfactory production, coordinating the manufacturing processes involved to meet customer requirements. Additionally, you will provide support for existing production of parts as necessary and be present in the manufacturing environment to analyze manufacturing needs and provide technical support. Responsibilities + Collaborate with the MRB team and investigate rejections to provide root cause analysis and corrective actions. + Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods. + Create manufacturing planning and instruction sheets. + Review bills of materials for accuracy, including specifications for use in MRP/ERP systems and the material department. + Design and improve support tooling and fixtures using CAD (Inventor). + Research and design manufacturing processes. + Estimate production times and analyze costs related to each job. + Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements. Essential Skills + Experience in manufacturing engineering and process improvement. + Proficiency in CAD design and tooling engineering, specifically with Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks. + Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing, metals fabrication, heat treat, CNC machining, and roll forming. + Understanding of machining equipment including conventional and CNC mills/lathes. + Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) and complex assemblies for aerospace and defense applications. + Expertise in process engineering, manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, and tooling. + Application of Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing principles. Additional Skills & Qualifications + More than 5 years of experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment. + Experience from a metal-based manufacturing environment, preferably metal forming (swaging, flow forming, forging), heat treat, NDT, and CNC machining. + BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or related field. Work Environment The work environment is a large, non-union manufacturing setting with 25-27 machinists across three shifts in the machine shop. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
