The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Mental Health Technician I for the Ludeman Developmental Center located in Park Forest, Illinois to perform beginning level duties on an assigned unit, on an assigned shift in the direct care of individuals, i.e., bathing, personal hygiene, heavy lifting, heavy carrying and pushing of wheelchairs. Participates in the implementing of individuals’ habilitation plans. Ensures compliance with Illinois Department of Public Health requirements when performing duties. Travels in performance of job duties.
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
Requires successful completion of a comprehensive training program at the Mental Health Technician Trainee level.
Requires the ability to physically restrain individuals as necessary to prevent injury to individual or others.
Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends, and holidays.
Requires the ability to participate in heavy lifting and carrying of individuals and pushing of wheelchairs.
Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties.
Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
