Position Overview

The Quarry Manager will oversee all aspects of aggregate operations at the Kingston Quarry, ensuring safe, efficient production and compliance with environmental standards. This role includes managing schedules, budgets, and resources while providing leadership and training to the team to maintain high standards and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Assures quarry’s production levels are maintained safely to schedule.
  • Closely monitors all areas of production to ensure that extraction and processing work is carried out to the highest standard.
  • Assists staff on site in responding to any technical or staffing issues that arise.
  • Alters production in accordance with materials required.
  • Manages the production process by setting and monitoring performance targets
  • Manages and regulates the Quarry budget.
  • Provides information and updates on performance to General Manager and other senior managers as requested.
  • Maintains up-to-date records to include inventory, inspection systems, checklists and financials.
  • Keeps abreast of key government health, safety and environmental regulations assuring they are implemented throughout the Quarry.
  • Conducts regular site inspections to assure compliance
  • Assesses equipment, orders new materials as required, coordinates with internal and external maintenance to address plant and equipment readiness. Assures that all vehicles on site are maintained to good standard.
  • Provides continuous coaching, constructive feedback, general work direction and holds team accountable.
  • Provides training and development opportunities and works with the team to create development plans.

 

  Requirements

  • Ability to work a flexible shift which will include days, evenings, nights and weekends.
  • Pre-employement screening is required before being employed by Callanan Industries, Inc.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.

 

 

  Education / Professional Experience   

  • 3+ years supervision experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous work experience with a union shop is preferred.
  • Previous use of a planned maintenance system needed.
  • Experience with screens and crushers are required.

Compensation & Company Benefits:

  • Base Salary is $100,000 to $120,000 per year + bonus
