Specific Responsibilities:
We are seeking an RFP Response Writer to respond to complex RFP’s relating to BD’s broad product portfolio. The RFP Response writer will gather information from RFPs, documentation, and internal subject matter experts, write a draft response, coordinate with third party providers, obtain approvals, and finally submit the proposal and supporting documents to the requester.
The ideal candidate has a strong proposal and business background, along with two or more years of experience responding to RFPs from federal, state, and local entities.
The ideal candidate should have good project management skills to ensure that proposals are submitted accurately, thoroughly, and on time. Experience with State and local government entities is a plus.
• Determine proposal requirements by identifying and clarifying objectives within the RFPs.
• Gather proposal information by identifying sources of information and coordinating with key subject matter experts and other internal contributors for additional information as needed.
• Produce quality responses to RFPs by following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone.
• Obtain approvals and submit completed proposal to the requester.
• Establish priorities and target dates to ensure that the proposals are submitted on time.$
• Maintain records of all proposals submitted and received.
• Log and update opportunity tracking and contract lifecycle software systems
• Gather and store feedback on proposals to help improve proposal content and process.

Qualifications
• BA/BS required with 3 years of business experience
• Two or more years of experience responding to RFPs.
• Strong contracting strategy mindset – must be able to access situation, understand customer request, collect data, and deliver well thought out recommendations
• Candidate must have Excellent writing, organizational, communication and planning skills
• Candidate must have proven ability to quickly establish credibility, trust, and support within all levels of organization
• Strong customer-centric skills, and able to adapt to customer needs while maintaining protection of BD’s interests
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage deadlines efficiently.
