Advantra is partnering with a seed-stage behavioral health startup in Washington, DC to hire a Sales Development Representative to generate qualified leads and support the growth of their sales organization.

About the role

You will be the first point of contact for behavioral health providers, turning cold leads into warm conversations and booking qualified meetings for the sales team. You'll own outbound prospecting, lead qualification, and pipeline building while collaborating closely with Account Executives, marketing, and growth teams.

Responsibilities

  1. Conduct high-volume outbound calls, emails, and LinkedIn outreach to behavioral health providers.
  2. Follow up consistently to keep conversations alive and maintain pipeline momentum.
  3. Qualify leads by listening and asking smart questions to determine fit for JotPsych.
  4. Capture and update detailed notes in the CRM for smooth handoffs.
  5. Hit weekly and monthly targets for meetings booked and opportunities created.
  6. Identify patterns, share insights, and help refine outreach messaging.
  7. Partner with Account Executives to ensure quality handoffs.
  8. Collaborate with marketing to respond quickly to inbound leads.
  9. Contribute to process improvements in outreach, tracking, and pipeline management.



Core requirements

  1. 0 2 years of sales, customer-facing, or phone-based experience (internships count).
  2. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  3. Tenacious and resilient, able to handle rejection without discouragement.
  4. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple leads and follow-ups.
  5. Strong sense of ownership and a "do what it takes" attitude.
  6. Comfortable using CRM tools like HubSpot or Salesforce.
  7. Clear and confident verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Ability to think on your feet in live conversations.
  9. Interest in healthcare or behavioral health is a plus.
  10. Startup mindset with flexibility and curiosity.



Nice to have

  1. Experience in B2B SaaS or high-growth startup environments.
  2. Previous experience prospecting or selling into healthcare providers.
  3. Familiarity with sales cadences, email automation, and lead scoring.
  4. Strong competitive drive and comfort working in high-intensity environments.
  5. Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator or other outreach tools.
