Job Description

Faced paced manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to join its growing team. This position is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, executing journal entries, performing reconciliations, managing payroll-related accounting, and supporting audits. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of US GAAP, experience with ERP systems and excellent Excel and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the month-end close process, including:
• Preparing journal entries
• Performing balance sheet and account reconciliations
• Managing accruals and prepaids
• Perform daily cash applications for unapplied receipts and deposits
• Complete monthly bank and cash reconciliations
• Record payroll-related journal entries, including:
• 401(k) true-ups
• FSA transactions
• Workers’ compensation accruals
• Prepare accruals for professional fees, consulting, and other operating expenses
• Conduct actual vs. budget variance analysis; collaborate with department heads to resolve discrepancies
• Assist with audit preparation, tax compliance reporting, and documentation for regulatory agencies
• Troubleshoot accounting issues related to A/R, A/P, cash, billings, and payroll
• Apply and interpret accounting policies and ensure consistent application across processes
• Work on ad hoc financial and operational projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and accounting principles
• Proficient in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, financial analysis)
• Experience with ERP systems such as JD Edwards, Microsoft D365, or similar platforms
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable accessing and learning multiple systems
