Staff Accountant
$150 M Healthcare Company – Chicago’s Southwest Suburbs (Hybrid: 3 days onsite /2 days remote)

Core Responsibilities
- Perform timely and accurate reconciliations for:
- Bank accounts
- Accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R)
- Prepaids and accrued expenses
- Fixed assets and operating leases
- Accrued interest and other sub-ledgers
- Prepare and record journal entries including:
- Cash receipts, A/R, prepaids, and operating leases
- Interest accruals, depreciation, and deferred financing
- Miscellaneous billing fees and quarterly entries
- Calculate and record accruals for:
- Payroll, PTO, training, and bad debt
- Support revenue recognition processes and ensure accurate monthly and quarterly financial reporting
- Maintain and account for fixed assets:
- Ensure accurate tracking and depreciation
- Update CRM asset records
- Review financial entries and reports for accuracy and completeness
- Assist with onboarding and support for practice partners:
- Set up management fee structures
- Manage contracts and process adjustments or billings
- Support financial audits (financial, tax, 401(k)):
- Prepare schedules and respond to auditor inquiries
- Review and approve employee expense reports for policy compliance
- Identify and resolve accounting issues or discrepancies
- Cross-train on key departmental and cross-functional accounting processes
- Contribute to process improvements and special projects
- Utilize SAGE as the General Ledger system for all financial reporting and reconciliations
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 1–3 years of accounting experience (healthcare industry experience a plus)
- Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle, GAAP , and revenue recognition principles
- Intermediate Excel skills (SUMIF, XLOOKUP, PivotTables required)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills
- Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with SAGE or similar ERP/GL systems is a plus
- CPA or CPA-track is a bonus, not required
