Site Superintendent

Job Summary

  • To provide on-site coordination for all phases of construction projects, including coordinating subcontractors, material and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. Superintendent shall be responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Superintendent will supervise all subcontractors, consultants, and vendors on a daily basis. This supervision shall ensure adequate manpower is available for each task and compliant work performed.

Duties

  • Coordinate and manage all onsite operations of commercial construction projects ranging in size from $500,000.00 to $20,000,000.00.
  • Perform safety planning/oversite for jobsite and subcontractors. Identify and coordinate the elimination/correction of any potential safety hazards.
  • Implement high quality control, including full compliance with plans, specifications, and contract agreements.
  • Communicate and coordinate with architects, owners, subcontractors, suppliers and GLR’s assigned Project Manager.
  • Create, manage, and take full responsibility for project schedule.
  • Maintain and hold the project budget.

Required Skills

  • Ability to problem solve with solid judgment, independent thinking.
  • Proficient with computers, tablets, and smart phones, including typing skills.
  • Willingness to work necessary hours to ensure all project needs are being met.
  • Proficient in on site problem resolution and subcontractor mediation.

Education/Experience

  • Ground up experience REQUIRED
  • Grocery store build experience REQUIRED
  • 5+ years’ experience in commercial construction.
