Job Description

Valve Sales - AML (Houston)

  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for key account management, identifying and pursuing AML (approved manufacturer list) & project sales opportunities, customer development, and profitable business expansion in the assigned region.
  • Influence specifications, deepen relationships with engineering firms, end-users and OEMs, as well as work with customer engineering groups to shape preference for company’s Flow Controls products while supporting the local representative efforts.
  • Maintain and expand customer base via current sales channels; building and maintaining rapport with key customers; identifying new customer opportunities.
  • Develop strategies for approval of products in the regional AML and vendor lists.
  • Identify each market segment and obtain necessary approvals required for that market segment entry and initiate the process to obtain the same under guidance and direction of company.
  • Assist local representatives in gaining new customers, capturing new accounts. Evaluate and propose levels of inventory to distribution to adequately support the business expansion in the region.
  • Be aware of customers’ inquiries and orders - assist in handling negotiations, adjustments, and complaints.
  • Follow up on quotes and report status regularly in CRM.
  • Solicit and recommend product lines by identifying new product opportunities, surveying customer requirements and trends.
  • Coordinate & collaborate with all appropriate departments and personnel to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain and develop professional/technical knowledge through relevant professional associations while serving as a technical resource for others in the organization.
  • Communicate regularly with management on sales goals, market trends, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Review all accounts, attend training, and work with factory representatives regularly.
  • Address and resolve all customer requests with a positive approach.
  • Act as a technical resource for customers and others in the organization.
  • Implement and follow up on sales directives from management.
  • Review and evaluate inquiries received and forward them to inside sales department along with all the detailed analysis and observations, for quotation.
  • Give feedback on the discussions and pricing to the company and negotiate as per guidelines given by company with the customer for finalizing the order.
  • Provide guidelines to the engineering team whenever required to support the decision and selection of the best product offering.
  • Support company when requested in any related commercial or technical activities to be performed in the assigned region.
  • Maintain job-related confidentiality.
  • Resolve conflicts respectfully and in a timely manner.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 3 - 5 years of sales, preferably at a manufacturer, as opposed to a distributor or rep
  • Experience selling to and ability to influence EPC’s, end-users, AML’s
  • 4-yr degree, technical degree preferred
  • Strong work ethic; self-starter
  • Ability to travel throughout USA/Canada
  • Self-motivated, professional, team player, proactive, sales oriented, independent thinker.
  • Familiarity with CRM practices along with ability to build productive business professional relationships.
  • Highly motivated with a proven track record in sales
  • Excellent selling, communication, and negotiation skills; comfortable with cold calls
  • Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to create and deliver sales & technical presentations tailored to the audience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Understands and adheres to organizational and departmental policy and procedures
  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback
