Job Description

Cart Attendants are responsible for positive guest interactions while accurately preparing and serving beverages to guests in a friendly and efficient manner. Cart Attendants are mobile bartenders and will welcome and serve guests in an attentive manner that reflects the company’s commitment to hospitality and superior service, exceeding guest expectations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Promptly welcome and greet each guest, making eye contact and presenting a genuine smile within 1 minute of guest approaching.
  • Practice good guest making skills with a positive attitude while treating guests with respect and making them feel special by exceeding their expectations.
  • Receive beverage orders directly from guests.
  • Prepare all beverages and cocktails efficiently, correctly and uniformly.
  • Deliver the same service standards to all guests.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge and respect of food and drink menu items, daily specials, promotions, ingredients and prep times.
  • Possess a comprehensive knowledge of beer, wine and spirits, as well as standard drink recipes.
  • Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol and practice responsible service of alcohol in accordance with Louisiana Responsible Vendor and company regulations. Must be L.R.V. certified.
  • Ring all beverage and menu items into point-of-sale system and collect payment from guest following proper cash handling and payment procedures.
  • Prepare garnish and set up bar/cart for service before opening.
  • Wash and sterilize glassware and bar tools.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members throughout service while exhibiting good teamwork skills.
  • Strong professional presence which includes arriving to work on time, ready to work and in clean, proper uniform.
  • Maintains awareness of and follows Dickie Brennan & Company service standards.
  • Display integrity and honesty in all aspects of employment.
  • Work efficiently and productively to complete required tasks within assigned time frame.
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and participate in a meaningful way.
  • Performs side work and closing duties independently and thoroughly including maintaining proper set up, cleanliness and organization of bar.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a valid driver's license and pass a background check.
  • Minimum one year of bar experience in a bar or restaurant.
  • Current Louisiana Responsible Vendor certification.
  • Extensive knowledge of commonly-used terminology, concepts, practices and procedures within the bartending profession.
  • Ability to operate a point-of-sale system and/or cash register.
  • Must possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and give correct change.
  • Ability to converse, read and write in English with excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Able to communicate clearly, concisely and accurately in a positive, upbeat and enthusiastic way.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective interactions/relationships with management, coworkers and guests while maintaining an outgoing, friendly and approachable attitude.
  • Work efficiently with minimal supervision and complete required tasks within set schedules and deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, time management, follow-up and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment with a customer service orientation.
  • Maintain a strong professional presence and present a well-groomed appearance.
  • Must be able to work in outdoor conditions.
  • Must be able to maneuver in an office, through restaurants/bars and outside functions. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, kneel, crouch, twist, lift, push, pull and grip items when necessary. May occasionally lift up to 30 pounds; push, pull or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity is essential. Must possess finger dexterity to use culinary and bartending tools adeptly.
  • Must be able to work varied hours/days, including evenings, weekends and holidays, in accordance with restaurant and golf course operations and adhere to the attendance requirements of the company.
  • Must adhere to the established appearance, hygiene, and dress code guidelines.
  • Ability to adhere to and comply with all rules and regulations of the company.
