Position Summary

The individual in this role will play a key role in Orange EV’s (OEV) Legal and Regulatory department by identifying opportunities, keeping colleagues informed about incentives and grants available to customers for yard truck projects, and ensuring all truck models meet certification requirements for sale through the filing and tracking of Executive Orders, certifications, and other regulatory applications. The Government Affairs Coordinator will engage regularly with federal, state, and local regulators through direct communication, webinars, and other channels to stay informed about current and upcoming opportunities. Additionally, they will contribute to strategic grant-seeking efforts and assist with team problem-solving.

Position Responsibilities

  • Support the Government Relations Manager by conducting research, analyzing, and interpreting local, state, and federal regulations and statutes relevant to Orange EV and its customers.
  • Support the Government Relations Manager in identifying new opportunities by conducting independent research across city, county, and state regulatory agencies, as well as federal government sources, to uncover relevant incentives and grant programs.
  • Continuously monitor existing opportunities for Orange EV by establishing, maintaining, and leveraging relationships with regulatory agencies at the city, county, state, and federal levels.
  • Engage with program officers and regulators via email and phone to gather information and clarify program requirements.
  • Develop an understanding of program requirements by reviewing and analyzing RFPs/RFAs, regulatory documents, and communications.
  • Under the direction of the Vice President for Legal & Regulatory Affairs and with support from the Regulatory Compliance Engineer, complete annual regulatory filings to ensure that vehicle models in production are approved for sale.
  • Track Orange EV vehicle eligibility and submit documentation as necessary to keep trucks current in incentive program catalogs.
  • Attend required online information sessions and webinars for grant and incentive opportunities – some of which may occur after routine working hours.
  • Support the Government Relations Manager in cultivating and maintaining relationships with community-based nonprofits nationwide (e.g., Clean Cities and Communities groups and others by attending online webinars, through in-person outreach, as well as email and phone communication. Some of these duties may require attendance outside regular working hours.
  • Manage and maintain Orange EV registrations in government business databases, including (but not limited to) SAM.gov; ensure corporate CAGE registration(s) remain up to date; and oversee other necessary memberships to comply with government business requirements.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned.

  • Understand the need for confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft 365, customer relationship management software, and online video conferencing platforms.
